Who we are

HerCompass is operated from Portugal, within the European Union. When we say “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean HerCompass. When we say “you,” we mean you — the person using our app.

What data we collect

We collect only what we need to give you personalized insights. Here is exactly what we store and why:

Health data and special protections

Your symptom data, supplement intake, and daily logs are considered health-related personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process this data based on your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to take the quiz or use the symptom tracker.

We never use your health data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing you with personalized insights. We never sell your data to anyone, for any reason.

How we use your data

We use your data to generate personalized nutritional recommendations based on your quiz answers, to send you your results by email, to let you track symptoms over time and see your patterns, and to improve the app based on anonymous usage data. We do not use your data for anything else.

Who has access to your data

We use a small number of trusted services to run HerCompass. These are the only third parties that may process your data:

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. These are secure, HTTP-only session cookies managed by Supabase Auth. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies.

How long we keep your data

Your quiz results are kept indefinitely so you can reference them later. Your daily logs are kept for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account, all your data — quiz results, daily logs, and profile — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Your rights under GDPR

Under EU law, you have the right to access all personal data we hold about you, to correct any inaccurate data, to download a copy of your data in a portable format, to delete your account and all associated data, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) or any EU supervisory authority.

Children's privacy

HerCompass is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

International data transfers

Your data is primarily stored in the EU. Some of our service providers (Resend, Vercel) may process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app before the changes take effect. Minor clarifications or formatting changes won't trigger a notification.
